Ullapool

Just had a few days (5) riding from Liverpool to Ullapool via Falkirk. Weather was supposed to be crap but we were lucky enough to avoid the worst rain and didn't get wet enough to spoil the trip. Had a couple of nights in a hotel in Ullapool. Four of us from Liverpool and four from Scotland. All in all a good few days but unfortunately we had to stop and help with a young guy who had had an off. Just passed his test six weeks ago and riding a ZX6. Looked like he had over done a left hander and hit the armco on the other side of the road. Luckily for him nothing was coming the other way. He had broken his wrist and was in shock. One of his mates was walking around doing nothing so Neil, Parttimepilot , gave him a bollocking for not calling an ambulance. Police arrived and I must say the two young coppers were great and thanked us all for stopping until they arrived. One of the poor lad's mates had gone on ahead not knowing what had happened but we were there for almost 30min and he didn't come back and we didn't see him when we got to Fort William. Lesson for all of us, look out for each other especially when we have new riders with us.

Yes Harv,Ullapool to Lochinver is great but when you get there it's a bit of a ghost town (village). Good roads all over the Highlands, beats North Wales any day.

Did you call into the pie shop in Lochinver? Oh, and keep going towards Scourie next time - the roads get better!
