Weather has been kind to me today so it's been a busy couple of hours... new front tyre fitted, new fork springs and spacers fitted, brakes stripped and cleaned, bike washed , chain lubed and a nice little ride out with blues skies and some sun.

The front tyre (BT023) had worn unevenly with the right hand side having lost its rounded profile from the central ridge across to the edge and the tread had started to scallop. Every right hand bend or turn gave the feeling that the bike wanted to throw me off and at slow speeds you could feel the tyre tugging. A new tyre has now sorted that. @tu*

The front springs have been replaced with a new set from Jaws and have given the 'bird a new feeling. Unfortunately with new tyres I've not been able to go too hard but it definitely feels better. I now need to scrub the front tyre in and then get some mileage in to make a good comparison. @tu*

Shitty weather, shitty wet and muddy roads just mean more cleaning but she's now sparkling in the sun and looking good. Chain is lubed and now ready for my next lot of shifts.

All, in all a good day but really do wish I had a garage to work in rather than on the drive.

As a tyre, I couldn't really ask for more. I'm an all year, all weather rider and in both dry and wet conditions they have handled just fine and as I'm inclined to "make progress" my tyres do tend to wear a bit quicker than some. I got just under 5.5k from the rear but there was oodles of tread left on the front, despite the wear I've described. The set I've replaced were not the GTs and I think that they suffered because of the weight of the bike; the GT version has the firmer side walls and is really what should be used on the 'bird.
