Yes its a tragic loss of life but how the hell does someone already under arrest manage to get a gun into a police station ?

Obviously I don't know the full details but he should have been searched at the point of arrest surely, then searched again at the booking in desk ? ..... all I can think is he wasn't searched properly when arrested then the shooting happened when he was being booked in ?

Was he not cuffed, or would it have prevented it.

He obviously wasn't searched enough?
Why did he not go to town, so to speak
and empty the clip & shoot more police?
Strange one that, if no armed police about
then he must have had a free license to
eliminate as many as he could.
Maybe he was well known to the police
as a continual offender and never posed
as a real threat? We can only speculate
until the enquiry surfaces.

Don’t know if it’s true but on YouTube an hour ago it was claimed that plod found some ammo on him before he did the deed. Gun could have been unconventional in design so was missed in search but that is pure speculation on my part, not cuffed sounds bad though, and you would have thought finding ammo would ring alarm bells
Heart goes out to the victim and his family.
Shame these scroates don’t fire their last shot first, save a lot of trouble.

Latest report suggests he was searched by a special constable, on patrol with a regular officer who found ammunition. he was then arrested and transported to the police station. He was apparently having his temperature taken in the custody suite when the shooting took place.

Such a tragedy for those involved and the officers family. The incident has been reported to the IPCC.
