Pity i am a crap rider... I wouldnt have minded a go on a proper trackday, but I dont wanna knacker me bike up by chucking it down the track with real riders.

More chance of chucking down the road than a track I reckon Rolfy. Just apply the same criteria, i.e. ride within your limits but without the risk of numpties in cars, large buses, HGV's, scooters, street furniture, suicidal pedestrians, etc, etc, etc..
