Torrential trousers!

Riding to work this morning in very heavy rain, I only had my temporary, crappy thin overtrousers on over my jeans and I got a 'bit' damp.

$%3un

I need to find some replacements to my proper armoured overtrousers that got a leak a few months after buying them (RST kit from Crescent suzuki down in Verwood, Dorset). Real shame as they were perfect (apart from the leak!) for ease of use, fit and protection for work commuting.

Anyone know of any good, and reasonably priced armoured overtrousers that I can put on over my jeans that dont make me look like a baloon animal or an SS officer (viz ze vide hips!) ? The other problem I had finding a good pair (before the RST pair) was where the knee armour sat when on the bike. Usually too low and very uncomfortable.

I dont need the quilted type as I dont get cold easily (the opposite usually) but removable lining is ok.

I paid about ?80 for the RST trousers, and they looked good quality and worked well for the first few months.

Any ideas or suggestions, before the real bad weather kicks in ?

may be a bit obvious, but how about some more RST`s they seem to have cept you happy till they "leaked" :dunno:

bit of a sore point really as I tried two more identical pairs until they refunded my money as both new pairs leaked as soon as I wore them in any kind of heavy rain.

Have you tried Hein Gericke in Southampton - their wet weather stuff has never let me down. They also use the hiprotec (sp?) armour that's soft and comfortable, but still CE approved. You can also move the armour around and clip it back into place to make sure that it's in the right place.

Thanks nigs, I might get out to some shops this weekend, but HG Southampton is probably not one of them. I've not had a good experience with them for a long time. Might try another HG though.

Lumpy, I take it they are not armoured trousers (not for a tenner surely) which is what I need. I've tried using leathers for work, but they are just too damned cumbersome when you get the other end once removed and jeans put on. Have to navigate lifts, clock in/out, electronic doors etc all with armfulls of jackets, trousers, boots, helmet, bag etc etc. Not good. So armoured overs are the way to go for me.

Cheers.
