Punch n Judy show would be more intellectual.
Certainly not funny.
Recent "news" says 80,000 jobs likely to be lost here. Not sure if it includes N.I.

Certainly N.I. farmers will be serious trouble as will Southern farmers.

And you will all be eating suspect untraceable beef imports.

Clueless in most things
And you will all be eating suspect untraceable beef imports.

On that last bit, that isn't quite correct as all livestock from outside the eu has an electronic trail from import to counter. Having the eu system didn't stop the chap in the republic selling horse meat as beef or the recent polish rancid gone off meat getting into meat supply.

I would agree it will cause major issues in the republic for farmers as I understand 50% + of their beef goes to the U.K. and a fair chunk of the remaining beef goes through U.K. ports and through the U.K. onwards to europe. Varadkar overplayed his hand whilst the eu used him as a pawn.

All livestock from inside the EU is also subject to the paper trail, it comes under the heading HACCP, hazard analysis of critical control points, however like everything else controlled by humans, whilst money is involved it is open to corruption

My recollection it wasn't "meat" it was mixed into burgers. This may not have the same controls.

In 70s the firm I worked for was involved with meat factories. I remember fuss going on about American inspectors visiting to check plants producing for export. I was sent off late one day to supervise joints in upper floors being sealed to stop leaks before inspectors arrived.
