A box of fat balls and a packet of daisy seeds, I know how to push the boat out
We have given up on the fat balls, birds used to love them but won’t touch them now.

But they love the square blocks….

I have baby starlings at the moment who are eating them, the rooks and jackdaws have moved on. I have noticed that the seed and nuts aren't being eaten as quickly

The hedgerows around here are bursting with berries etc. The birds won't be bothering with seeds and nuts at the moment.

Hopefully there will be pictures of a bmw covered in multi-coloured bird poo, from near france, shortly. :meparto:

Well yesterday actually, about 4pm, a 43” colour tv for mother in law as hers had packed up and apparently that was my problem.

Really just plugging Richer Sounds, Philips tv delivered at 9:30 this morning, £299 including 6 year warranty.

They really have the best customer service and usually the best prices.

If I could have been arsed going to Brighton to pick up a Panasonic 42” I could have saved her £100:devil-flip:

Today I removed old tv and installed new one for mother in law.

She has a combined dvd/vhs player that is so old it uses SCART….new TV doesn’t have SCART….another problem for me to sort out……sigh…..

I have that problem later this week.

My parents TV has gone U/S.

Have managed to find that there are still some TVs about with a scart connection.

An 80mm bolt to use as a guide to put wheel on TT. It's difficult to handle because the tyre is a 245 wide. This means centre of gravity makes it difficult to hold against the hub and align the holes. It has bolts not studs.

Much to my surprise converters are available.

One tip from me….make sure yo get a tv that fits where the old one was….I didn’t consider that the old set was on a single ‘foot’ in the middle of the tv…the new one has a foot at either end….only just got away with it!

Finally gave in and with the help of a tax rebate bought myself a Viofo 2 channel camera for the bike.

For your info the SCART to HDMI converter a few posts up works well. If you go that route you will need to power it from an HDMI source - I used an Apple iPhone three pin plug charger thing.

Read a quote from a car salesman.

He was talking about the fact that so many these days but on personal contract.

He said these days his job is simply selling debt, with the added advantage that the customer gets something to look after to keep them distracted from the debt!

I think the service plan is clever.
The garages know that when it comes to trade in they will be confident in the state of the car.

It’s an interesting product. On paper I save about £600 but there are half a dozen ‘seasonal health checks’ included that aren't part of the service schedule that I’m not sure I would bother with outside the service plan. However, all fluids get topped up as needed and the car goes up on the lift for an inspection so not completely useless.

But you are right, the dealer/manufacturer knows they will most likely be getting the car back in px at some point. And the dealership gets commission on products like this- wheel and tyre insurance, bodywork insurance, Gap insurance and finance - and are great negotiating points for the buyer.

Booked in for a seasonal health check next week where a couple of minor items will be sorted under warranty….and best of all…the car will get washed!
