New Lid............!

I change my Lid every 3 years and have bought a Roof Daytona, this time. 'Tis the best fit, noise reduction and visor i've had,.......... each to their own!
 BMF is a good place to buy!

My Christmas present from wifey was an X-Spirit

Its great, replaces a 7 year old RX900 much more comfortable
I searched around and Hein Gericke was by far the cheapest but it was on offer.

Davey

X-Spirit..........

Thanks to all for your comments.

Some reports/tests I have read mention that XR 1000`s & X-Spirits are quite noisey !

Anyone have experience of this ?

:bang: :bang: :bang:

P.S. Best price I can find an X-Spirit is ?415.

Anyone know of better ?

  err... joe... was the pun intential about you wanting your LANCE when you talk about GAY? something you want to share with us maybe? :f
Yep Schuberth S1 is my lid, top quality, dead quiet, no lift strangulating effect even at silly speeds thanks to skirt (oooerrr), great aerodynamics, inside dropdown dark visor looks flash but is actually vey handy... oh, and I test-rode it landing on my head at about 20mph and it save my life and I ain't paralysed either... so guess which lid I bought to replace the crashed one? :yo:

Where's ya chain-male and lance ?

Compared to any Arai it is quiet

surely, that depends on the Arai? I've had several Arai's and several Shoei's, and I thought they all differed in the noise department. IMHO, I didn't think you can say one brand is quieter than the other and personally I prefer the Arai visor system to the Shoei system; who cares what it "SOUNDS" like :dunno:

I reckon almost all the noise you hear in your helmet is from wind rushing up and around the bottom, not from the vents etc.

If you wear a scarf or a wind blocker thing the difference is amazing.

er...............my point was

PHP:
Compared to any Arai it is quiet and the visor mechanism doesn't sound like a cement mixer

I don't care what the VISOR MECHANISM sounds like :dunno:
Of other do then what ever rocks ya boat I 'spose :}

LOL@Clive - you're right - cold air does seem noisier!

I jumped on the big ZX in my full leathers with my trusted Army Combat jacket over the top this morning as it was pretty messy out there. This combat jacket has a massive collar that zips right up to my nose and I can get it up inside the helmet comfortably. 100mph and my ageing Shoei Interceptor (well beaten with a few stories to tell!) becomes totally silent. Literally.

Neck warmers / scarves / big zippable collars make a massive difference to helmet noise - this is a fact - almost all the noise comes from wind whistling around the helmet opening.

If you don't believe Clive and I, go out and try it for yourself.........you don't need earplugs if you've got the bottom of your lid sealed well.
