Ian, although I did not get to read the thread in question, I understand from two seperate sources that it getiing very nasty and quite offensive.
Considering what had just happened ( the whole damned forum getting deleted ) all members of the admin team are particularly wound up and more than a tad touchy right now mate...
With the above in mind, do you not think that you may well have been a bit insensative with some of your remarks. ?

time of posting the thread the only thing I knew was that we were using a temp coffee shop. And working with computers as I do all day I thought it was a tempory hickup. So I posted tread which was intended to be humorus stating that thr Taliban and a man called Al Queda had kidnpped it and were holding it to ransom for ?4.73.
David took offence and then a gate and called me a twat and then took it upon himself to remove it.
This is from another private email from him.
Suspect that no-body wants to read that crap - so I've deleted it
He then went on about personal attacks on him which is a bit rich when you look at some of the posts from FB aimed at Peter and several others.
It was intended as a bit of fun but FB seems to be losing it, as they say if you dish it out you must be prepared to take it.
Whatever I say is always intended to be taken with a pinch of salt, and I try never to be offensive. However we all have adifferant sense of humor. So sorry to anyone I inadvertantly offended and a Big BOLLOCKS to FB

I think it was all about timing mate, thats all... things were very very heavy earlier with lots of toings and froing trying all sorts and doing even more... we all got WAY too stressed out...

As you say
the timing was not the bestthe but working with computers all fooken day I get used to them screwing up. Somtimes I think they have a mind of there own and do it just to dick me off.
Trouble with David is that he is so easy to wind up, it dont take much to do it. And I just cant help myself getting him more and more wound up.

BTW, dont suppose you would happen to have an old CPU fan suitable for a 486 would you ?
The one on the machine which runs my ham radio BBS is slowly dying a death and there is no chance of buying one !

I just might have one lurking around in the spares bin ( Rubbish Pile ) I will have a look tommow and let you know. Altough a 486 will run quite well without a fan so long as the heatsink is big enough.
The only reson the fans were ever put on was that unsuplus ( Dodgy bastards) would overclock DX2/50 to make them DX 2/66s the price differance at the time being around ?70 - 100 not a ad profit for the price of a fan ??????

Two years worth of banter/info/pictures have "disappeared" without any backup to restore to.
Everyone is wound up not just to try and restore the coffee shop but also to find out wether our forum security has been breached.
Smack Bang in the middle of the FAMILY Holiday Period the 3 Administrators of the forum are trying to sort it out and recover.
I have a wife who for 3 days has been crippled with SEVERE Back Pain and can hardly get out of bed - and three young nippers to look after
Jon has a wife who is recovering from MAJOR life-saving brain surgery and needs his constant attention 24/7
Wiz is supposed to be on holiday
AND all at 02.00 in the morning!!!!

He said it's OK for his friends (naming you) to call him nasty names but as I was'nt his friend, I was not.
I got a yellow card and banned for a month from the old tart.
