Thus border issue in Brexit .........
Personally I am very concerned that it will bring out the fundamentalists on both sides and give them excuse to start up again.

There are still incidents, from time to time, of arms finds and intimidation.

It's not easy to weed out problems embedded over years.

Maybe it's time to give them an Independence referendum. If they vote for it they will have to sort out their own problems instead of throwing the teddy and expecting London to deal with it.

The whole argument was originally based on religious belief & the acquisition of power I don't see that much has changed apart from the tactics & the fact that some of the main problem causers have now gained some of the power they so desperately wanted in their sad little lives

I don't think there is an answer & don't think there ever will be, its extremely sad for the vast majority of law abiding irish population :(

Am I right in assuming that a lot of this activity has organised crime lurking in the background??

Very much yes, Andy. We had a lot of wee naebodys who became men of power on both sides during the troubles and they don't want to go back to being wee naebodys. Depending on the area, protection will be paid to one side or the other. Frankly IMHO the border has feck all to do with it and the arseholes will seize on any excuse for violence.

Largely agree but there a genuinely held views that the island should be one.

Wonder if royal visitors got all the history of Croke Park.

I don't understand enough about this, but am I right in thinking that Gerry Adams getting the hump about someone throwing industrial fireworks at his house (which is exceedingly unpleasant in any event) is a touch ironic?

P.S. You'd probably enjoy a chat with his now dearly departed oppo, Martin McGuinness, he was a great one for the DIY, too.

It would be funny but it could be the ripple of worse to come.
Cracks were wallpapered over. Now the wallpaper is showing the strain.
Going to cost you a lot more money....
