I've never really listened to them but have heard Light My Fire a few times on Planet Rock of late. Am I missing much? Should I give them a listen or would it be a few hours of my life wasted that I'd never get back?

Discuss.

From what you mentioned about Pink Floyd a while ago, I wouldn't spend money, but maybe listen to LA woman on YouTube if you have some spare time, you might be surprised.

I put them firmly in the Neil Young/Rolling Stones/Early Genesis category, I have to be in the mood but every so often, a whole album gets played.

You could spend half your remaining life listening to the trash they put out & still only end up liking the 3 or 4 songs that get played on the radio regularly

They only released nine studio albums! Are you saying I could be dead in four and a half hours or so? :yikes:

Just listened to LA Woman and it's better than modern pop today or what they call R&B* but that's about it.

*By "what they call R&B", I do not mean proper R&B like ZZ Top, (some) Gary Moore, Clapton, JJ Cale, etc. I mean that shite today that I liken to having one's ears raped.

Its preferable to listening to the doors (y)
It is! Better than some stuff but I'll stick to what I like best (y)

Give this a crack - Faces stuff is just fantastic...and I seem to remember you have toyed with a bass so you might enjoy Ronnie Lane going for it in this.....

I've never listened to The Faces too much as I'm not big on Rod Stewart but that's a bloody good song. And, yes, excellent bass line from Mr Lane (well remembered (y)).

Didn't they play music by Handel? Or was it Hinge and bracket?

Doors heh!
I’ll keep me opinions open on that one ;).
I did used to think the track The End was pretty trippy and a bit freaky though.
