The Buell footpegs mod

I'm pretty much decided that I'm going to fit modded buell pegs to give me a bit more leg room, but I'm a bit of a mechanical muppet and probably don't have the necessary tools.
Could someone please point me in the direction of some simple, step by step type instructions so I can give my knees a break!
Ta!

Err, is that a good idea, what with your 'spirited' riding over the Coro pass you'll end up thrown over one of the barriers before you can say "damn, I wish I hadn't bothe............." h1d1ng2

There's been some recent posts on the USA CBR 1100XX site about lowering kits made in the USA by one of the members. It's something I've been mulling over too. Here's one link if you haven't seen it: http://www.cbr1100xx.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=36191&hl=footpeg+lowering.

Cheers,

Geoff
I got a set of these lowering blocks and they are the best thing since sliced bread, lowered the pegs ~7/8" and makes such a difference, really saved my knees and feet  . I did have to wind down the brake pedal by cutting the adj rod and move the shifter down, I also took the "hero blobs" off the footpegs for clearance - now I just have to watch grinding the sides of my boots on 160kmh sweepers sh1tehppns . I love the fact that I get to keep the rubber footpegs :lick:, I may put the buells on the back for the missus :p

Been looking into this a lot latley and we are just in the process of making some adjustable lowered pegs. They will require no filing or cutting and they can be fitted in two different positions, position one is exactly the same as the buell peg and position two 15mm back from the Buell peg which will give you a choice for more comfort..

You will be able to fit a set on the back as well ..

Also they can be made to fit over the top as well making them an alternative two position rearset for the more spirited riders or for people who prefer them a little higher without going to the expence of full on rearsets..

am in the process of sorcing the best/ most comfortable pegs at the moment and have got a choice of three..

I was just going to do them for myself but if I can get an order for 5 + then I can get them done for around ?40 - ?45 a set..
I am hoping to have them sorted in about a week or so and I will be able to post some pics when Ive got a set fitted..

I liked the idea of the billet alloy ones in the states apart from when you fit the standard peg its sticks out about an inch further due to the way it mounts.. see pic what I mean..

peg1.jpg

Anyway, I am not asking for any money up front or anything but shout up if your interested and If I can get a minimum of five I will get them made for everyone..

They will straight plug and play with no cutting or filing req, laser cut and profesionally welded..

soon as I can get some pictures up I will so you will be able to see where im coming from ..

will need to know if you would want raised or lowers or rears because the fitting is slightly diff between them all ..

Post up if you would be interested please

I'd be interested in front pegs if the Colonies are included in the potential offer, even with extra freight costs.

still looking for the best peg option at the moment.. would have been nice to be able to use the original ones but its not possible without cutting/ modding them...

I am very confident that thet they will work a treat Ive put the order in for five sets. I will be wanting two sets so the risk for me is just for three which I am prepared to take..

If you like them Geoff, I dont mind posting them over to you mate..

not wanting to get to far in front of myself here, so if you dont mind hanging on a little while untill I can get some pics up, we can go from there.

will update as soon as poss..

Im asuming you three guys would all want front lowered ones yes ??

Be very interested in a set of rear pegs if they are lower and won't foul my zorst's, got Quills fitted. The height of the rear pegs is the only complaint from my wife, may extend our range without having to stop for a leg stretch every 40 mins. :p

Adjustable Lowered Pegs

ok fella's heres what we have been working on.. Ill let the pictures do the talking but any questions please ask..

The pegs in the lowest position are exactly the same as the Buells, but there is another adjustment hole for comfort purposes if you prefer it..
The peg is a billet aluminium and does both front and rear and raised, we are currently looking for another touring peg but without much success and the ones in the pics are the best / comfortable we have found.. if anyone has/knows of a touring peg please shout up..

The rear mounted will be modified slightly with just the one lowered position as it catches the standard round can with the double position but I thought id show you anyways.. no probs with ovals..

The raised are a good way of getting a rearset position without the rearset price lol

the brackets are going to be blasted and powder coated matt black (same as frame) to finish them off ..

Nige says he can do a set for ?45 which includes post / delivery in UK if anyone fancies them..

Please let me know what you think as I aint going to spend anymore money on them if no one likes them :p

I'm still in.

No hero blobs, then? Can you do anodised silver/plain alloy for the mount, rather than black? I think I already know the answer, given the very limited run....
