really enjoying the currrent BBC production.

Love her or loathe her I can't help thinking she would have been the right PM to negotiate Brexit.

I agree Andy. Sadly Boris is the next best thing!
I'm sticking to what I have always said about Boris -"I'd love to have a pint with him but wouldn't want him in charge"!

In fairness, he was excellent as Lord Mayor of London - the first to actually make it more than a largely symbolic role.

Still scares me though!!

Mrs T would've got hold of that twat Tusk and kicked his balls up his torso and out of the back of his head. Her and Norman Tebbit would've shown them who's boss, oh yes, oh yes indeedy!

Bozza is an absolute crackpot but, in light of the others that have put themselves forward, I don't think there's much of a choice. He scares me too, but not 1% as much as the thought of President Corbyn and that retarded dickhead, Fatty Abbot.

Just come in from working on the bike as it's raining cats & dogs and thundering.

24 yr old son is watching the program and just said exactly the same thing.

No. I tell the truth, not a closet bender and I know who my father is, so I'm not suitable.

Not a Margaret Thatcher fan by any means she ruined this country and we would still be in the mess we are now if she was in charge as for Boris he really worries me.

If it wasn't for Mrs T, we'd either be Germany's bitch (like France) or Russia's bitch (thanks to that commie twat Scargill). If you foolishly think this country is ruined now, wait and see what happens when that pair of idiots President Corbyn and Fatty Abbot get elected.

Maggie was a bit like Winnie. They were flawed in many ways but they (in my opinion) left this country better than the twats they took over from.

When thatcher took over the country was broken. Her policy was to take it backwards, mainly by closing down loss making state subsidised industries and making it harder for those that had no intention of lifting a finger to claim state support, before taking it forwards. Unfortunately 3.25m unemployment was the result of the 'going backwards' with many communities destroyed as local industry closed down. On the flip side in time her policies created an extraordinary boom for those on the right side of the line. That is why opinion on her is so polarised.

Maggie believed that everyone had the opportunity to better themselves and it was up to them if they didn't take it. A very noble ideology that I sort of agree with, but the reality is some have no opportunity whatsoever.

There are always opportunities, it's just up to the individuals to recognise them and take them.

I would like to think that is the case, but sadly some are born into environments where opportunity is a million miles further away from them than most of the population.

Unfortunately being a parent doesn't require qualifications.

Watched the last part last night - it was really quite extraordinary listening to her views on Europe - I hadn't appreciated how isolated she was on the subject and absolutely now realise how prophetic they turned out to be.

Was also a bit of an eye opener to see her sitting with the other European leaders and basically telling them to stick things where the sun wasn't shining, particularly the German Chancellor!!

Funny old world.

I was talking last night with a guy who is high up in banking & I was surprised to find that his views on Brexit were the opposite of yours Andy, he reckons that British banking is 20 years ahead of the rest of Europe & we would be even further ahead but Europe are holding us back, he was definitely pro Brexit.
