Never been through swiss border. (alway been expensive) i have always prefered The St Bernard passes,Mont cenis passes or mont denis.

Oh in case any wants to try these passes. Even in june they can be unpredicatble ( no fun pushing a laden B/Bird over a broken rd for 1 km normally snow clad and had not had seasonal repair yet)

I've been caught out a few times

Especially early and later in the year.
As soon as the sun starts going down the temperarture drops like a stone and the then the bloody road are covered in ice.
