I'm new to the Bird and getting ready for two up touring with a full givi set with 42l panniers and Maxi 56l top box.
Now i'm not too fixated with the max load warning on the swing arm but i would have expected to make some sort of adjustment for all the extra waight.
Seems like only rebound on the rear can be adjusted, is that enough, can the Bird really take such an increase in weight without any other adjustments?

touring two up

Check your owners manual as for the max weight. I ride two up with fully loaded Givi hard bags, 2 X 35 litres and a 40 Litre top bag. I weigh 180 lbs, unfortunately and my wife weighs 125 lbs. I keep the rear on "hard" and we've had no problems. In fact I keep my bags on year round.

That screw adjusts the susp from "soft", to ,"hard" and it seems to do both rebound and compression to some extent. Don't forget you can wind down the adjusters on the spring as well to compensate for the extra weight so you have the same ride height. They are a git to adjust though ..
