I was offensive lineman for a while.. great fun !
I also appeared on telly in a BBC drama called, very imaginatively ( ! ) Defrosting the Fridge..
Sounds good but I was just one of the team.. good day out though and met some interesting folk !

So at half time its 7 all... Phili seems to be fielding a wierd special team..
Most have kick off, kick off return, punt etc etc teams, but the Eagles have brought something new to SB 39.
Its called the fook up team.
Every now and then they appear to send out a team of players that would struggle in bottom end college football, the latest allowed the Pat's a drive that took them more than half way down the field and ended in a td that was a gift, with Smiffy so far open he could have been left over from a previous game !
Must say that Paul Mcartney was on song for the half time entertainment.. Considering the fact he makes me look like a young lad he can still belt them out and his voice seems to have changed little in the 40 years since it all kicked off for him !
Right.. Second hald about to start.. Am off and running again !
Hope the rest of you fans are enjoying the spectacle as much as me !

Err Joe.. I would be VERY careful about such statements !
In the UK the A F season runs during the summer while ( obviously ) the rugby season is winter.
The local rugby team ( who are, apparently, supposed to be highly rated ) thought it would be a good idea to keep members fit if they joined our team ( The Breckland Bucks ).
Only ONE lasted longer than a tryout scrimage ! That was Lloyd who is a Blackbird owner and a member on here
All the others either limped or were carried off the field.
It is simply a different game, and players from one find it very hard to switch to the other.
No matter what, with all the heart and bravery in the world, two people running flat out at each other without padding are gonna pul up a bit.
You do that in AF and you WILL get hurt.
So it was not the fact the rugby guys could not physically play the game, they just could not get their heads round it.
I think the parting shot by one of the rugby lot sums it up......
Its good to know we aint the only lunatic hard men in the world !!
