Cheers !!! I wanted the Triumph as a project to build up/modify/add-to as I love me custom bikes and I've done the Harley route already. Jap customs are all (almost) HD clones so the Triumph caught my eye as something different.

The 'Bird will be my daily commuter (100 mile round trip)....so the best of both worlds, lazy cruising on sunny Sunday's, ballistic blasts to and from work Monday to Friday. :}

You obviously like your customs and that, but can I ask, how do you find riding a style of bike with your legs out front, i've only riden a couple of bike like that and always found a bit disconcerting?g0551p

It is something you quickly adapt to. You're sitting very low on the bike anyway and with pullback bars the most comfortable position for your feet is out in front. It becomes a pig when you pick the pace up a bit as the windblast wants to splay your legs apart....but if you stay under the 80mph mark it's really relaxing. Lay back in the seat....nestle in between the other half's legs......what could be better ?? :lick: :}

It's a sod when you jump onto a sports bike though.....pull away and find yourself sticking your feet forwards looking for the footpegs !!! :}

Ahhhh. Starting to see why the americans like their Harleys so much, long straight roads and all that + 55mph speed limit. Don't like the idea of the legs being split over 80 though, sounds like it could be be painfull, specially if you get a gust hit you as well.:} :} :}

I wouldn't bank on that Trace - he probably thought it easier to get one rather than trying to hide your body under the floorboards :rolleyes: :} ......

wrong colour yer twat!!!!

I know Mate...I know !!!! :B Wanted a 'ride to work bike' and this one came along at the right sort of money. 1997 'P' plate, FSH, 26,400 on the clock, Datatool alarm, but other than that, completely standard. Brake pads are shagged as are the (wrong fitment) tyres.

So.....saw the bike advertised at a dealers in Norfolk. Went up on the train on Saturday and was met at the station by Jaws :bow: who ran me to the dealers and gave the bike a once over. Rode back to John's place, thawed out with a cuppa, grabbed 3 sets of brake pads, set off on a freezing bloody journey of 150 odd miles back to Kent. Pads went in yesterday, tyres will be fitted this week, car goes up for sale next weekend, I will then become a full time 2 wheeled commuter !!!!

Wonder if me riding will improve ?? :dunno:

BOTS....no money down here Mate, just loads of debt !!!!! :}

if it does i aint riding with you, and i will have to boot you out of the Crap Riders Club as well.

Rest assured Andy......I'm staying in the C.R.C for the foreseeable future !!! :}

The thought that keeps going through my mind is 'If I'm riding every day of the year, in all weathers, in all traffic conditions, on all types of road surface, how long before either a) I fall off through my own stupidity or b) some numbnut knocks me off ??

My average mileage will be over 25,000 a year, so it's a case of WHEN I have an off not IF I have an off. The risk of coming to grief must increase with the amount of time spent in the saddle.....yes.....no.....?????
