Ouch!

Looks like my eventfull start to my activities with BIRD is continuing.... First the problem wiv my shoulder at Easter, and now my unwanted departure from my bike on the way down to the SOSB!!! Luckily the only damage is to a fairing side panel, front fender, Pannier, oh and my pride:xm sh1tehppns  !

So, how did it happen?

As I was taking a Right hand bend the engine died on me for some reason, leaving me without power and leaning into the bend. fortunately, as it was a sharp bend my speed was low. i managed to nearly complete the corner but.... Anyhow minimised damage by staying uprightish until i hit the grass verge......

Bugger, Glad you're ok though Bodmin. Looks like youve picked up a bit of smix's luck. Do I take it that SOSB is aborted for you then? Could this be one of thos loom fix issues that we hear of? what age is the bike?

anyway glad you're ok, the cosmetics can be fixed and you're with the right people to help.

Sorry to hear you missed out on the fun today (both of you) Had to cut our day a little shorter than expected due to my wifes arthritis flaring up on the rideout sh1tehppns

Had a good blast though; quite a site seeing about 30 'Birds' riding together.

Bodmin, doesn't sound like the loom problem, some others have had the same thing happen to them, it is more likely one of the wires going to the ignition switch, as you turn the bars the wire stretches and loses contact with the switch. By all accounts it is an easy fix, just needs re-soldering onto the barrel

Sounds like the SOSB is going well (for most!)

Bodmin, if you need any help sorting the bodywork out then give me a shout mate and I'll see if I can help (01775 841078). I'm just glad you're okay, bugger about ruining your weekend though! :xm

ah that explains it, 'we counted them out and we counted them in'.............and the numbers didn't tally! Somebody pointed out that you split off near/at Glos so we knew you were safe and had simply taken an early bath.

Personally I 'day tripped' the Bash ....................... great day and it was looking to have full potential to get 'messy' when I left!

and so it did, good sir.

Bodders, I think you did that on purpose 'cos they told you I was scarey!

I even had the sweeties there ready and waiting for you honey.

Anyway, don't do it again, the summer of 2007 club is filling rather quickly, and glad you're OK.

Thanks for the concern, Yes the SOSB was aborted for me, but I had a good weekend anyway (went to watch my other motoring passion of Stock Car racing). The bike is 6 WEEKS old (07 plate), so its gone back to the supplying dealer to sort out:bang: :bandit: . I'm definately going to the main bash, even if i have to walk!!!
