Keep your eyes open please - for the whole bike or any bits. It was stolen on Monday 23rd September from Co Durham. Candy red 2000 bike reg: W901PBB, new Michelin Macadam tyres, carbon hugger, Scottoiler, bubble screen, Givi wingrack, heated grips.

Thing is, if I am to believe Honda, because of the HISS, the bike can't be started without the keys (and I have them both) and all the components are identifiable because of the Smartwater.

Anybody got any views on this?

Sooo sorry to hear about yer loss

As far as I understand HISS and smart are like any other anti theft devices they are deterants. If someone wants yer bike or car bad enough they will take it and all these items have ways of getting round them. new locks/ ignition etc.:B

Hope something turns up anyway. Bloody crooks, need shooting.:shooter: :shooter: :shooter: :shooter: :shooter:

When I recently had some electronic problems with the 'Bird, the workshop had to get a new ECU from Honda, together with new keys, and I had to send them a copy of my Diver's Licence as ID.

Gave me a little confidence in the system, but I don't know if it was all just show.

Of course, I meant DRIVER'S licence!

Incidentally, I understand that villains could buy a wreck and then ostensibly buy a new ECU + keys legit ( the old ringer route) - so I suppose false ID is the way?
