Just got back from the Swiss & Italian Alps on Monday If you haven't been just go. Empty roads fantastic scenery great. According to our Hotel owner we can be the first to claim to have ridden over the Grimsel pass this year, though it was closed, could not understand the closed sign. Not till near the top did we see why its still closed at least 12ft snow at side of road now starting to melt. On the way down we encountered workmen clearing fallen trees & rock slides as we picked our way round the debris we heard one say mad English, oops!. Some of the other passes opened last weekend, they are late opening due to the 12 meters of snow during the winter.

Just got back from the Pyrenees and there's snow there as well. The wife made me turn around and go back so she could have a paddle in it. Excellent holiday.
