Stator and Clutch cover paint

Hi Everyone.
Can anyone recommend a decent paint for both covers as i have a little section on each cover where the paint is coming away. Will Hammerite do the job? And what type of sand paper is best for smoothing the roughness of the paint job of the previous owner?

You could always do an exchange through Jaws website for a refurbished one that comes nicely powder coated but otherwise I'd be going down through the grades to achieve a smooth enough surface to apply paint to. Smooth Hammerite will do the job...unless you wanted the industrial look!

Took your advice and went through JAWS for both covers @tu* and I am delighted with the results
