Had a breakdown arrive tonight.. Couple of problems.
Not the least of which was a Sptball alarm immobiliser that had gone phut.

So i am thinking damn,,, gonna have to work this back along all the loom and figure out all the connections that have been cut and stuff...
No paper work , no install notes showing whats been put where.. damn !!

Well ahalf a dozen wires later the thing is laying on the floor meeping pathetically at me and as far as the bike is concerned it never had an alarm fitted ...

No idea if this was a poor installation or thenorm, but it came off the bike frighteningly easy ..

had a spyball go on my last bike - left me stuck without a ride. had it taken of the bird when i got it - didn't want a repeat performance (or lack thereof!)

I am a DataTool man myself.. had them on all my bikes for the past 10 years.. Had one failure in all that time..
Sent the unit back and a replacement arrived by return with a very nice leeter ( all free ).. Datatool seem to be on par with Scottoiler.. top notch company with excellent aftermarket service..

my pan european had a spyball alarm on it,it was a pain in the ass,sometimes couldnt disarm the thing,batteries for the remotes are hard to get hold of as well cos you dont go any where if the remote goes down,thankfully my blackbird has a datatool on it:bow:

dont you "taffy's" know owt?? "meeping" is just the same as Beeping only with a very "muffled" Beep, and sounds quite sorry for itself!! :rolleyes: it often occurs when the damn thing has been "sounding off" that long the battery is going flat!! :}

I've always had datatool alarms on my bikes (they're based in Alton, jsut down the road from me - very helpful folk)...

I did get a bike with a Spyball 'installed' on it, but it took about 5 minutes to remove it (just following the wires/no instructions) - hardly a secure decice at all...

datatool

I have now had two replacement boards fitted to my datatool alarm, one wouldnt swith off, second kept switching itself on while riding along. Also very easy to get round, if you know how, three minutes to do now. :xm
