No those statements were from others that have panels, and two estate agents (though I tend not to believe a word those fekkers say)

John the last few posts I've read you seem to have this "I'm thinking about snuffing it" but not just yet type lean, are you trying to tell us something?? :dunno:

was also mentioned the "investment" potential and comparing the return from "investments" such as ISAS and the actual return from the feed in over a similar time frame. :dunno:

In all seriousness its all a risk with investments (panels, stocks, funds, etc) with some being riskier than others and the timing of getting in and out is crucial. Just by way of example I have just looked at 2 funds ISAs I bought in 2009/2010 and one focusing on the safe index trackers (UK/US/Pacific) has returned 89.91% and one in riskier UK growth funds has returned 46.19% so far. I'm not saying this will continue over the life of your panels purchase but it is something you need to consider - my 10k is now worth about 17k after 3/4 years. But any Cash investment has grown diddly in the last 3-4 years. You are probably less likely to lose your shirt with panels though, as I might with a monster stock market crash. I would bet money on there not being an energy price crash though :-0)

Ian, I know my luck mate.. 1 year off retirement.. none of my family apart from one made it to 65.. Just being a bit fatalistic nowt more.

ISA's etc were looked at but any income gained from them is taken off any pension I might get.. Panel income is not allowed to be taken off state pensions

Thats another good reason for the panels John, and the income is tax free as it's not actually income, just means you pay less, there "may" be a possibility of some money off council tax for those with panels as they help with the council "green" policy's that they have to achieve :dunno: not happened yet but is being talked about,

John your too fekkin tight to snuff it early, :-0) you've years left on your bikes and company so I cant see you letting go early so someone else can benefit :dunno:

that and "us" lot, all wish you a long cabbage n piss smelling old age!! :-0)
