Okay boys and girls, you may recall a thread from Bert about his recent track day and how much fun he had, as well as learning a thing or two, well I'm considering running another one exclusively for the BB club.

Now lets get this clear from the start, ITS NOT A TRACK DAY, its a RIDER SKILL DEVLOPMENT COURSE (well that?s how it has to be marketed to secure the course  ).

For this to happen it needs between 40 - 50 bikes, as we have to pay for a number of things and it takes this number of attendees to cover the cost. The cost would be in the region of ?75.00.

For this we get exclusive use of the track, with the whole group divided into three, a novice group, intermediate and advanced group, each having 20 minute sessions.

Safety is the overall consideration, so if you are a nutter, don?t bother applying as you will get pulled off the tack and sent on your way home. The object of the event is for folks to develop their riding skills and safely explore their bikes and own skills with the assistance of instructors (if required). Its said that 80% of riders only use 20% of their bikes potential and only 20% of riders use 80% of their bikes potential, so we all have room for development.

w;;v PS... I have been asked to add this.... Clothing for the day MUST consist of a one piece or fully zipped two piece leather suit, a helmet that has the gold British Motorsport safety sticker on it, appropriate boots and gloves, okie dokie...

READ THIS - READ THIS.. UPDATE...AS OF 7.5.04
We now have a date fixed for this, it will be SATURDAY 3RD JULY, 0900X1600HRS, COST ?75.00.
Those of you who have said they are coming can you please email me on allan.smith1@blueyonder.co.uk and I'll reply with where to send the cheque. We need 40 bikes for this to happen!!!
The cheque needs to be with me no later than Saturday 12th June so I can confirm the track, insurance, ambulances and caterers. I cant do this until all the money is in place as I dont have that sort of cash and couldnt stand the loss if you fail to pay up.
I will also forward to you full details of the day and a disclaimer form that you must fill in and return with your cheque.

Okay boys and girls, you asked for it, now you have it, get ready for a great day out.

Todate - (9.5.0) we have 32 up for this, still need another 8 to make it happen. If those coming have a sensible friend who you could vouce for, and would like to invite along, we can consider that to make the numbers up.

Cheers  R#?

Additional Info~~~

When I checked with my insurance - because it's classed as a [cough cough] Rider Skills Development Day not held on a [cough cough] racing circuit, your insurance may still be valid

I queried mine - got the broker to phone the insurance underwriter - "Yep - you are covered"

Do have to thank Buzz for all the effort he has put into organising this event - I pushed him quiet hard to use his contacts to see if we could do a BIRD Day

If you think [for just a minute] that you might learn / get something out of this day - my advice would be as Nike would say "Just Do It"

It's not until you've been on a circuit [no Gatso's..no camera's - no potholes - no bloody caravans] that you realise just how capable the BIRD really is

I was tracking an R1 - thought "he'll never heel it over THAT far safely"

So I followed his lines - picked his braking points - followed him in

Mega Grin Factor!!

Then I wupped him on the straight!

At ?75 for the FULL day [thats approx 3 sessions in the morning and 3 sessions in the afternoon] that's a lot of track [sorry circuit] time for your wonga

I had never done a track [sorry circuit] day before and contrary to some people's opinions consider myself to be a "reasonably competant rider"

This track [sorry RDS] day will greatly improve your confidence AND riding ability - it did mine and the banter also allows you to "sharpen your sense of humour" as well !

Please note though - due to the confidentiality of this "private" circuit - no camera's or imaging equipment is allowed on site - even mobile phones with camera's will be confiscated until after the event - road legal pipes only - no loud/race cans - noise levels are monitored

No problem maties - it's going to be a "BIRD" day [assuming we can get the numbers] - NOT exclusive to BlackBird Owners so you'll be more than welcome

Cheers Bert..............I have been meaning to spend a day with The Bob Pinder but haven't found the time what with bloody moving & wedding etc........this is in my diary as I can use any advise I can get, especially after a little 'incident' this morning on a wet road.........Mr Brown nearly put in an appearance I tell thee..........

C'mon the BlackBirds - let's get the numbers and make this a success for Buzz.........

Well done Cyclops~~

Brave Man after ya tumble last year

It's not about what bike you ride!

Mind you - you;ll probably have to remove those Titaniun Heel Sparkies though [aka Segs] and just make sure the velcro is strong enough to make sure that the tassles don't fly off in the wind!!
