I seem to recall that it was the proprietor of that newspaper who said

"Boris Johnson has let down/misled everyone he's ever met"

Wasn’t it Blair that left the Government with nothing in the treasury?
Possibly, i have been to bed since then, the point is this cunch of bunts have made things much, much worse and need throwing out in the street, does not matter who they pick as pm the policies will be the same as always the only real difference being the next idiot might be able to dress it up a bit better than truss and last more than a few days

The problem is that the honest politicians wouldn’t touch the pm’s job with a barge pole

That's about the size of it. The best man for the job, without a shadow of a doubt, would be Ben Wallace, which I said when Boris resigned. He wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole then and he wouldn't now. Most people don't know anything about him and it's with good reason; he keeps his head down, mouth shut and gets on with his job. He's about as straight, honest and upright as we could hope for.

As for the rest of them, we're effed as it is and we'd be even more effed with Liebour. I wish I knew what the answers were. I'm wondering if it would be worth giving the Lib-Dems a shot; I really can't see them being worse than Liebour.

The most honest politician I know of is our local Labour MP, Dan Jarvis, he flatly refused to try for leader of the Labour party despite being a very popular choice.

So Boris was away on the beach.
I thought he was supposed to be at work in the house of commons as he's being paid to do.

Where else would he be when the country is in turmoil and facing a financial crisis!

I thought nobody wanted him involved in running the country?

You can’t have it both ways!!
I don't want him back, but shockingly he was a "better" PM than Truss.... and I actually thought at the time that she'd do reasonably well before she took office. I should've listen to what Jaws said about her.

Somebody's already said it, but God help us we may actually be forced to let the Lib Dems have a go. ... :yikes:

Although the question has to be asked.... where ARE the Liberal Party..?

I have an ongoing ‘debate’ with the local LibDem man…he is another one who is great at heckling from the touch lines and has 20:20 hindsight along with a money tree that will pay for everything.

Sadly this country is awash with negative people who heckle from the touch lines but offer eff all in terms of constructive comment.

Dont get me started on the hordes that feel entitled that have contributed bugger all financially over the years and drone on about how awful everything is.:smiley_1140:

As for "heckling" etc.

My views are quite straightforward.

I expect people to act with honesty and integrity, that includes politicians!

Making right or wrong decisions doesn't matter, we can all make the wrong call.

But I firmly believe that no-one acts dishonesty without knowing so.

So is anyone saying he is on holiday when he shouldn’t be?

There are times in my work where I have booked time off or would like time off but work needs mean I can't do what I want. I accept that, it goes with the role. If I don't like it there are other roles that don't require that commitment.

Surely contributing to the running of the country at a time of crisis is that on steroids?

They don't need to have a vote as it will go to Penny as she had said she will do tax cuts even though the country can't afford it, but those voting are greedy
