Been a long 4 years coming! Still some things I want to do to her over the Winter when time allows. More than just a different paint job!

Check out this one-of-a-kind muffler (can) emblem. I made them from an aluminum street sign, contoured them same as can, sanded, polished and had them chromed.

I painted all lens with a translucient purple. When the lights are on, the red and amber show through perfectly.

Love or hate it's looks, it's destined to remain one-of-a-kind. I've seen pix of purple XXs on the internet, especially in the U.K., but none like mine. I wanted to duplicate the U.K. style XX with the silver color at the bottom, as seen on the satin black model (2004?). It alone took many tries when taping it off from the purple to get it just right. Couple things I still want to do to it over the winter. She's tucked away for the winter sitting about 5 feet away from me as I type this in my house! Love seeing it every day even if my wife won't let me start it up in here :dunno:

Nice one!

How did you keep the centre stand after ditching the original exhaust, I've got an Akropovic fitted to mine but miss the convenience of the stand.
Cheers,
Steve Ashby

I actually welded a steel cross member onto the stand, then pop-riveted a thick reinforced rectangle of rubber to it.This actually sits up against the lower shock linkage. With just a small amount of white lithium greese applied to the rubber where it rests up against the alum. linkage, there is no noise, or damage to the alum. It's got over 800 miles on this set-up with no problems. I MUST have a center stand on my bikes, not just for the chain adjustments, but for the cleaning and detailing of the wheel and chain.

But is a paddock stand ALWAYS with the bike? Mine is easy to use, as quiet and effective as a stock center stand, and allows me to have an aftermarket exhaust system. It may not win any engineer type awards, but it cost me nothing but my time and less than a spray can of gloss enamel.

:lick::lick::lick::lick::lick: ... your bike is just STUNNING, absolutely stunning !! She is definately a work of art and a labour of love. Love the colour, love all the mods. I'm sorry, but you are going to have to ship her over to the uk and give her to me

Failing that you could come over and do my bike the same.......
