Welcome, I'm glad to see your getting another brain cell!! @tu* "ref Hardlymovingshit" there are two main differences in the Bird, Carb and Injection, the change over year is early 1999 though you will occasionally find a late registered carb, they are the main differences and the sub headings such as different dash, Cat's ETC are all to be found in the search facility second button in from the right above, good luck with your search, and condition rather than mileage is more important with the bird, and don't bother too much with a service history, they don't mean that much either unless your trying to sell to someone that knows SFA about the bike!! @tu*

Clueless in most things
Was it after 2002 the cats were introduced? The injection ones before were better and the carb ones before that, the best.

Usual things asked...42 psi front and back, hid 5-6k range on the dipped, fender extender, semi synthetic and then every thing else is down to you.

However over 150 mph little keeps them apart and like all bikes the rider can make just as much as a difference than the latest "update"

by the way, this forum relies on old farts taking the piss out of each other in a way that would have the yoofs of today pressing report buttons..all done in jest but old fashioned type, nothing personal.

Typical Scot though, trying to get an English bike before Salmond puts a tax on imports in place 8rfl@

Welcome.
