Ok guys I had a letter back from the owners of the Park today saying we can use it for the BASH next year !

That was all I was really waiting for before confirming it because it all depended on them saying yes.

They don't want paying but they would like a donation to a local charity which we can sort out.

So now thats sorted and I have the first 5 names down for the adjacent B&B I can make some more definite bookings.

I have also asked the hotel if they will provide brekky for anyone who's camping, not just for the ones staying so I'm hoping that they will. If not there is a cafe across the road who I will approach next if the hotel say nay.

I'll have to price up everything and will get bogs and showers sorted and will let you know nearer the time what the damage will be.

I intend to hire a small Marquee to put up right behind the hotel so we can sort out our own entertainment but go and get the ale from next door. That also saves the problem of licences, etc.

Although I'm making the arrangements, I'd like to organise what you guys want in the evening. The only thing I have booked is a local band who play great Scottish stuff and will get you all involved on the dance floor and also singing, god help us !

However do you want anything organised on the Friday nite like the good old Disco with Karaoke or would you rather just have a drink in the pub next door ? I know its a long way up here and some of you may want a quiet night on the Friday, then again !!

Saturdays ride out will be to a distillary along some great roads and for the Sunday I'm hoping to organise a session at the local Adventure Centre with 4x4's, shooting, etc.

A lot of this depends on how much you guys want to pay so once I get a better idea I'll let you know.

So the bottom line is that the BASH is on, so mark it in your diaries, 4th, 5th and 6th September 2009 !!

Hi Russ

Do we need to either book with the hotel, or send them a deposit to reserve the rooms mate ???

Jan & myself are going to do the bash as part of a bit of touring in Scotland, as we have never been to your part of the country on the bike... Would also like to do Fort William/Oban/Inverness/monster spotting, etc...

We are stopping overnight on the way up at the Travelodge at Stirling (only (?19 for the night:-:) just to break up the motorway journey...

Looking forward to it already...

Cheers,

Rolfy & Jan

ps.. Which room is ours ???

Dave, don't worry about the deposit, I'll sort that out you can settle up nearer the time.
Just getting costs for all the necessities like bogs, showers and marquee so I can get an idea of overall cost, obviously don't want to make it too much so I'll see if I can do some dodgy deals !
I know its a year away but I'm one of those sad bar stewards who likes things sorted early !!

as for the room, take yer pick !!!

Thanks for the work on this Russ, I am looking forward to being there.

Mike, no need to pay anything yet, I'll sort the deposits out for all the rooms and everyone can settle up with me nearer the time.

As this is a purely democratic forum, whatever option wins the poll (I'll add the IXXRA votes as well!) will be what we go for so that nobody can moan they didn't have a chance to say what they wanted !!

Oh 'WOW'..........yeh i'm up for that, will bring the caravan up on the Landy, be a good change, wicked. :yo:

Ok I know its a fair way off yet, but it looks like most of you prefer the drinkie on the Friday night, so I will try and sort out a free bit of nosh in the pub as well which should make it more appealing !!

Bogs and showers are ordered, rideouts just about planned and just got to sort out the choices for the Adventure activities on the Sunday, watch this space !

Might be making a week of this one. Hitch up the caravan and bimble up stopping overnight once or twice on the way up and back. Or, if the weather permits, we can break out the teepee and do the same thing.

We'll have to see about getting a towing arm to hitch the chariot to the back instead of the caravan................

Sound good !

Spoke to the hotel today and they have confirmed they have booked the 5 rooms and have also said they will provide breakfasts for all those who are camping for a nominal fee. So if you don't fancy soggy egg and chip in the rain you can have it there instead !!

Forms for the bogs and showers went in at the weekend as well so things are looking good and good to see so many interested.

I will post up some other links to B&Bs shortly, there is another pub that does accommodation a couple of miles away so will speak to them next week as well.

Will keep you lot updated as more stuff happens.

ACTIVITIES

The rideout planned for the Sunday is to the Deeside Activity Park (HAVE A LOOK HERE).
However the activites are not cheap even with the discount I scraped off them, so if you can let me know if you want to visit there to take part in some of the things available, or just a ride around Deeside so I can book the place in advance because apparantly September is usually busy.

So far a guide to prices are;

Individual Activities
2 hours of kart racing - ?45 each
2 -3 hours of paintballing - ?30 each

Activity Combi Packages
Quad Trekking & Kart Racing 2 hours - ?55 per person
Archery & Target Shooting 1 ? hours -?30 per person
Quad Trekking & Archery 2 hours - ?50 per person
Clay Shooting & 4x4 Driving 2 hours - ?75 per person
Multi Package (3 or 4 act.) Half Day - ?85 per person

Like I say if you all just prefer to have a long ride let me know, its a few quid for any activity but if you do fancy it let me know which ones, you can also look at their website (above) for more info of just send me a message.

brok3

It is looking like the Friday night will be a cosy drink or three in't pub, don't forget to vote if you haven't already cos whatever wins, wins !
