Hi All,
I'm just in the process of planning a 4 day trip round Scotland in August. I've read Grapefruits thread and appear to have planned a similar route....
Head up the west coast from Lochgilphead via Oban, Eilean Donan Castle, Gairloch and as far as Upper Badcall. From there plan to head back south via the cairngorms, loch tay and dukes pass.
We're stopping in Dumfries on the Thursday night. My question is whether it's worth heading west on the Friday morning through Galloway Park on the A712 then north on either the A714 or B7027 to Girvan and up the coast to Ayr.
Other option would be head direct to Inveraray, enjoy the fun roads from there onwards and spend the time saved elsewhere.
Cheers
Andy
