The eternal debate - I have a Tomtom Rider, they have free updates included which (I think) the Garmins have to pay for? Used it in Italy, Belgium, Holland and France, no great probs at all.

Zumo 550 does it for me...

And you can get a Europe-wide set of speed camera plugins from
www.SCDB.info at a small cost. I think both Tomtom and Zumo are probably much as good as each other. Go with which feels more you. I like being able to move the Zumo from bike to car (it comes with a separate car mount with speaker) and I have had all my tech/user queries satisfactorily resolved in reasonable time by Garmin when I've contacted them so if it came to replacing mine I would personally stick with them.

Having carried out a fair bit of research it seems the Zumo wins against theTom Tom ...I'm going for the Zumo (although big drawback -if you don't have autocom- is thatheadset is extra while TT has bluetooth h/set inc).. discovered a firm offering new but white boxed models for ?335 .... looking to put a bluetooth dongle onto my autocom (just purchased at less than half price this week)..hope to run both phone and sat nav on bluetooth..dongle is a painful ?71 and before going ahead just wondered if anyone had experienced any difficulties (or success) with this set up...sorry for the ramble but it is Sunday night and I have just eaten half box of chocolate liquers3ck04

Get caught in Europe by the boys in blue with the speed camera info running and you're in big trouble....

w;;vif you buy a zumo 550 you dont need a bluetooth dongle, ive got a starcom, the zumo plugs into it, the zumo as a bluetooth for the phone, you can phone out using the zumo and recieve calls, you can also put a head set on it,and have some rock & roll on the mp3 player and it will still warn you about speed cameras! even if you are not running a planned route! you can allso set it too warn you if you are getting low on fuel and change the speedo to kmh and lots more! all the best paul:yo:

Hi Paul...thanks for that...now on a diet...carrot soup for tea otherwise when the good weather arrives won't fit into my leathers which curiously always seem to shrink over the winter months............
