It is with much sadness I have to announce that Florida John passed away peacefully at home on August the 2nd

Many of you will have fond memories of him and his visits to the UK so he could attend the Bash
All who knew him will know there is a big hole in not only the XX community but the motorcycle scene in general

I will be closing the forum for approx 2 hours tomorrow ( 16th ) evening to honour Johns memory

It was rare in talking to Florida John that our conversation did not turn to the wonderful people we met and times that we had while visiting y'all for the first, second, and subsequent Bash events (for John). He thought the world of our friends "across the pond" and I know the times he spent with you were some of the best times of his life. John was a regular guy, and a good guy. He was a navy veteran and enjoyed investing in people, such as his contributions to motorcycling and the XX community, and his dedication to assisting the mini-gp experience here in the states, doing whatever he could, whether it was picking up cones or just being there to cheer on the kids. He was a good man, and a humble man who didn't make a lot of noise in the world, but still carried his weight and more while managing to still surprise the hell out of us on many an occasion. Godspeed, John. Look after us.
