Here in Thetford I really do feel my local postmen are being let down badly by those in other places..
My postmen are really really good ( no .. no piss take I rate them very highly )
For instance, I was fairly desperate for a parcel from a supplier just before Christmas..
I mentioned it to my posty asking if there was any parcels for me at the office as I would pop down and collect to save them sending a van.. Nope.. nothing waiting there for you John, sorry..
A couple of hours later and another posty knocks on the door.. Your man said you might be desperate for this.. thought I would bring it round on the way home ( which was actually no where near me at all ! )
Now that is personal and extremely good service..
On the other hand, the parcel that I was actually desperate for did not show up for three more days, even though it was marked urgent and was posted as an overnight..
Same goes when I send stuff..
A lot of you will have ordered something from me one day and had it arrive the next..
Equally I am sure there are those who have waited a couple of days for stuff..
yet it is ALL sent out first class post ( unless it is really heavy and then it will go parcelforce )..
So if they can do it sometimes ( i.e. live up to the implied contract you and the PO enters when you pay postage ), why is it only rarely and why is it so common for post to take far longer than the expected delivery times ?
