Rossi Proves it...YET AGAIN!!

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
..He's absolutely the greatest - no contest!

...What's interesting is the apparently universal approval that's now being heaped on his shoulders by the fans at the tracks. We've heard his name chanted at Jerez; a striking tribute considering it was only the first race of the season. At Mugello - well - no surprises to hear the support for him there! But the chanting at Donington: "Ross-see!, Ross-see!" was as loud and as passionate as any we've heard. There was a real sense of appreciation in the air as Valentino delivered yet another racing masterclass.

He's a seven-times World Champion who's triumphed in every class, including the transition from two-, to four-stroke machinery. His talent is undeniable and his luck, on occasion, has been incredible. Because of this, it's easy to overlook his bravery and dedication - but there's another factor in his make-up that no-one seems to mention: as the dominant rider of his era, he has to work harder to win than any other rider. But he's so hard-working that this year's championship is probably the one that he most deserves to win.

I hope he does! k1ap

Your Honor.
But where did Rossi finish?
Sorry did'nt hear you?
Louder you'll have to speak up a bit...
Oh? Second! man8um Well I never!
And as for the 'crowd', all 68,000 of them had plenty of room to spread out - There was c125,000 when I used to go to Donny.
Also there are other riders who have worse injuries than Rossi you know, so a word or two of congratulations for them as I think as they deserve just as much credit, if not more.
Anyway, I'm glad this season is a lot tighter than the others as it was just too boring for words when Rossi was winning almost every race.
I think Honda dropped a clanger with Hayden, if the chassis wasn't working they should have put his old one back on as those 11 points could be vital at the end of the season.
Pedrosa has also done what Rossi has tried to do all his career and that is piss off at the front never to be seen again. I'm sure Dani enjoyed showing Rossi hows it's done! If Dani had gone any slower he would have needed tyre warmers :p
Anyway you old tart, glad you had a good race meeting and you got home safe and well.
Talk Laters your Honor.

68,000? I must have misheard the tanoy, I thought they said 88,000 :dunno: But then, I was wearing ear plugs.

Watched the race from the new Redgate stand, well worth the money given the heat out in the sun.

Not bad, really, considering he was riding, quite literally, with only one hand!

Yeah-hhh-heh-heh-heh! But they hadn't invented television back in those days - and they don't use chariots any more, either - they've got things with internal combustion engines now!!) p0pc0rn41

That's actually a fair point - pretty unusual from you when you're on a "Rossi Rant", me little Darlin'! (Bless! :k )

And, of course, it was never boring when Mighty Mick Doohan was doing the same thing, now was it? (I remember a press conference where a reporter made a stupid comment about the "lack of competition" when Doohan was at his dominant best. Doohan (literally) sneered at him and said: "What do you want me to do - slow down?" I can't remember the reporter's name - but I'll never forget what Doohan said!") Anyway - where was I? .....Oh Yeah!

Ar-rrr....No! Honda dropped a clanger when they let Rossi go to Yamaha (Doohan had to stay put 'cos he couldn't set a bike up to save his life - just like Hayden! Tsk!)

This is, perhaps, worth clarifying. Riding one-handed, Valentino was a little ambitious to grant little Danny such a favour by choosing to start from the fourth row. Nevertheless, Danny was running so scared that he very nearly fell off his "mo-mo-bike", trying to ride past poor Marco - another of the "walking wounded" - who was riding in front of him. It all goes to show that, even though Valentino is injured, Danny-boy is afraid...very afraid. And so he should be! ...A twenty-second lead cut to four seconds by the end of the race!... So he should be blimmin' scared!! sp1ttt3

YO...M8...
Rossi has minor injuries compared to Mick Doohan, Doohans foot was so bad that he had to have a brake gizmo fitted to the handle bars and he raced liked that for years not just for a couple of weeks or so. plus Doohan had half his thumb and finger missing. man8um Probably the most 'gutsiest' rider I know.
As for not being good enough to be a development rider like Rossi, pshaw and piddle! In my book that makes his career even better than Rossi's. man8um
Rossi's hand would heal a lot quicker if he didn't keep trying to stick it up his backside every 5 mins
..and as for the four second thing, he was just being sporting so the others at least looked as though they were in the same race :neenaw:

Salutations to you both :k

Good job there's me and thee to keep these threads going innit??

RHINO

Answering to nobody
I think that had it been a different circuit on Sunday, for example BRNO, Rossi may have walked it..
It was the well known hard braking corners that clearly dis-advantaged 'VALE VALE VALE' and a longer circuit with faster corners would have seen the gap in Rossi's favour.

Hi John!

On every track the riders are having adapt to the increased capabilities of the bikes.

The performances of Pedrosa (a rookie on a machine with 100bhp more than his 250cc bike of last year  ), Rossi, Melandri and Capirossi (all riding with injuries - Capi's by far the worst) was astounding. Did you hear Randy Mamola's comment as Melandri led into the second lap?" "Melandri's done a 1:33 (?) In days gone by, that was race pace and Marco's just done that from a standing start."

I've got nothing but admiration for those guys - Every last one of 'em!

NOW READ THIS:::NOW READ THIS....
If you took your blinkers off for a moment and re-ran the race on your coloured TV, you would see that Alberto Puig held a pit board out to Dani during the 6th lap from the end of the race saying 'MODE', the esteemed Mr Ryder informed us that this word when displayed on a pit board means 'Slow the fcuk up Dani, the race is in the bag' (or something along those lines!). Dani then, as instructed by his mentor, dropped his pace by just over 1.5 seconds a lap. QED!
Plus Dani had just broken the lap record by a staggering 1.2 seconds  (now that's awesome), and took the former lap record from the guy who previously held it...someone called Rossi - who ever he is. :dunno:

Much love.... Zippo the Truth Sayer

...and completely ignored by Rossi and Melandri on the rostrum, too. I didn't like it.

When Biaggi was the target, the very real hostilities between him, Rossi - and virtually everyone else in MotoGP kept some heat in the situation - it meant something. For me, the little incident at Donington was nothing less than cold-blooded ignorance. No need for it.

Nope...Didn't like it one bit! :t
