Mrs P came home from work last night, and after a four day trip she never has much of a sense of humour. Called in at three supermarkets and no diesel in any of them, so she had even less of a sense of humour. I called around to the local stations run buy the oil majors and Esso and Shell both had diesel. Off she goes to Esso and fills up, £1.659/litre, 10p/litre more than Tesco and Sainsbury's were advertising for the diesel they didn't have. This morning, I pass the very same Esso station barely 11 hours later and the price has gone up to £1.749/litre. How the eff is that even legal?

My local garage went up from 165.9 at 10.00am on Thursday to 176.9 when I passed it again at 2.00pm the same day. This morning its 179.9. This despite crude prices dropping around 12% in the same timeframe. 15 miles away its 159.9 for diesel.

The local Shell robbers went up last week, and then a few days ago to 179.9 to 183.9. I’m keeping my eye on them.

Supermarket petrol in Wakefield is around £1.72/L went to Bakewell on Sunday and garages there were charging £1.59 at Jet.
Speaking of robbing bastards, just got ripped off by Adrian Flux over my MH insurance. Downloaded the Schedule and Certificate for my renewal, £265 it says on there then I see on my bank statement they've taken £340. Turns out there's a £75 arrangement fee. I would have cancelled but th cover had already started and would have cost £67 to cancel. Won't be going back there again.

You still have a cooling off period. I use Safeguard 03330 359017

I referred to the cooling of period in the phone call but because the policy had started there was a cancellation fee as the policy was in effect for the last 4 days and would have payed out if I'd had an accident last weekend when I was away. I was looking at adding it to my car insurance but the company I'm with don't do MHs. Next time the car is up I'll be looking at multi vehicle policies.

Took the bike for a ride on Monday. Just happened to go through Grantham. On the way in to Grantham I passed a BP garage, it's at the bottom of a hill and can be seen clearly when approaching from around 200m.

When I first saw it, diesel was £1.699, by the time I'd got to the bottom of the hill it was £1.719. By no means the cheapest I saw on my ride. Passed a BP station on the A1, £1.979. My local (11 miles away) Jet station was still £1.619 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, my nearest station, coincidentally also a BP station has now put his proces down by 1p to £1.769.

On the subject of BP, have you noticed that they are always more expensive than other fuel stations nearby

We haven't had our new council tax bill yet but it's one of the most expensive areas in the country. For what, exactly, I know not but the services provided here are nothing special.

We have an additional precept to cover the cost of moving the beach back from newhaven a couple or more times a year depending on how many storms we get.

Beat that.

Our gas and electric is supposed to be going up by £900 a year, no way on earth can we afford an extra 75 a month :(

Add to that we just got a bill saying we owe british gas near on 100 quid as they took over from one of the now defunct energy companies ..... this completely ignores the fact that we changed suppliers a month before that company went down the pan and have paid for our energy already ..... and then there is the near on £60 owed to us by another now defunct energy company
And the bloody Ombudsman will do exactly feckall about any of this

Asda is the cheapest around here for diesel but £75 still didn't fill the focus tank from near empty, feck knows when i will be able to put any more in so i am trying to avoid using the damn thing ...... and thats after just paying around half the value of the car for fecking bastid insurance
