Everyone has to make a few quid but the shameless profiteering of this poxy virus is starting to annoy me.

My gym has closed for the foreseeable, along with every other training establishment in the UK, so I have to make do with the kit I have at home. I have enough to keep me occupied for an hour but I could really use a pull-up bar to work my back. The prices of these things on Amazon have all doubled over the past two weeks, robbing bastards! It's more the third part sellers and not Amazon themselves.

After three days of searching, I finally found something I want on the website of Fitness Superstore; normally £46 but they're selling at £29.99. :aaaaa: thought I until I went to pay. Minimum order of £200 required to calm the unprecedented demand.

I refuse to pay £50 on Amazon for something that was £24 early last week. Wankers.

There's loads of other examples but nothing that really affected me before this

And they’re still quoting delivery “within 30 working days”! :yikes:

This shit is really starting to get on my nerves now.

As Cougar said, once this madness is over Fleabay is gonna be littered with hardly-used fitness gear. I wonder how many of these muppets have already found themselves in A&E cos they don’t know what they’re doing.

They’re no good for me, John. Thanks though.

I’m looking for more of this sort!

https://www.fitness-superstore.co.uk/body-power-door-gym.html

They extend about 6cm above the door frame and with 2m doors, I don’t have to contort my legs up in awkward positions or anything. They have one on Amazon but I refuse to pay £47 plus £5.50 delivery for something that was £24 last Monday.

Believe it or not, Argos sell something like that. No idea what Mens Health stuff is like for quality.

Just a thought, do you have a weights bar - straight or curl..? If so then you could get a set of heavy duty wall hangers and, provided that they come out far enough from the wall (garage maybe..), you could then hang the weights bar from them.
It should be well up to the job of coping with you hanging from it.

Not in stock for delivery. Twats.

I have a decent selection of weights and bars but I want to avoid fixing anything to the walls (in other words, Mrs P won't allow it ).

Just my opinion but all fitness kit is a rip off anyway, you don't need any of it to get super fit !

If you want to get super strong as well just add weights & a good diet that's it !

Pull ups I used to do off the architrave over any handy door or a beam in the shed the only kit I ever had was a punch bag (as I was not after pure strength)

Tons of cheapy ones on Fleabay, but when you dig you find they're all coming from China. :(

This is an interesting bit of kit. Bit more than you're thinking of paying but might be worth a look.

Then when you reached the peak of fitness...
It was time to repair all the doors.:D

Not sure the architraves in a house that’s 120 years old would support my 93kg

I have barbells and some weight but all I can do to work my back is barbell and dumbbell rows. I could use a bit more than that; my suspension trainer is good but there’s still gaps in my workout.

Top man, thanks John (y). I saw something like this on Amazon and it’s well over £100.

Money’s not the issue here, it’s the twats that have doubled their prices. I might well go for this because it allows dips as well, another favourite of mine.

Remember the shops that ripped us off :(
Remember the name of that shop that, in time of need, did not add just a couple of quid, which is understandable, but ramped the price
up five or ten times as if we were suffering the curse of hyperinflation. And then, when all this madness is over, and it will be, whether in
three months' or two years’ time, boycott that shop as if your life depends on it. Spend all your hard earned in the shops that did not stamp
on the corpse of human desperation in our darkest hour, and be vengeful to those who did, and make them pay. It seems money is the God to
some, and nothing will hurt them more than hitting them for ever and a day where it will truly hurt: in the pocket.
