Renntec rack combined with Honda panniers

I have gone for this combination as it suits me, despite being warned against it by a lot of people who say it looks gash and vibrates loose...
anyway here's what I've done and how it looks in case it helps someone else in the future

first of all big thanks to ceoils for selling me the rack for ?20

the rack needs cutting down nera the brackets to allow you to get it on and off over the Honda pannier brackets
I also took the opportunity to add some bungee holes and 4x m6 threaded tubes for attaching a topbox/other trick fixings
I then got it powdercoated for ?10 by a local company around the corner from JAWS

then I got some titanium spacers machined up in the matching blackbird style

and this is how it all goes together, note the front fixing is countersunk for a flush finish where the pillions hand goes

by the way while I was at it I had the wheel spacers made in titanium as the originals are crap and mine are grooved already at <10K miles

I have the Givi wingrack system but don't like all the scaffolding thats involved, so I made my own rack to take the givi plate, this fits with or without the panniers and in my opinion looks a lot neater. (doesn't have that horrible bar that goes down the side of the seat either)

Nice bit of powder coating, mind you Thetford Finishings are bloody good anyway!!:bow: love the spacers, bet you could flog me a few of those!!;-0))
