So, these things have been out for a year or so now:

Has anybody bought one or know anyone who did?

It's new helmet time for me and I like the idea if not the aesthetic particularly. What do you think?

re

I bought a bicycle helmet version, standing in the shop i thought it was great but on the road it was not much use. Basically, the more prone you are the worse it is, i.e. no good on a racing bike.I was having to tilt my head back to get a view of the road and after a two hour cycle i was ready to throw it in the bin. I haven't actually seen the motorbike version but i'd be carefull it suits your bike as it may be ok on a trail bike sat bolt upright but on anything remotely sporty it would be useless.
Jim.

Looking at the back of the lid, it looks like quite a big window, if the view from it is from above the window and looking out it may not be to bad but if it works by just looking straight out then as firejim5 says it will probably be useless, a definate try before you buy (if poss). In theory though surley they've looked into this before brining it out.:dunno:

Well you'd have thought they'd check it first. Though I think it's a very valid point to watch out for. I mean, if I'm going to ride about looking like a Cylon with its head on backwards then there's got to be a safety pay-off for doing it. Tracking down a southern distributor for these things is the next adventure, but I'll certainly remember to lean forward when I'm trying it on.

I assume you do what you do normally on bike or car: ride like a fucker to lose him, or go slower than slow until he decides to pass you. I usually do the second option.

That's a good one, maybe they could incorparate those lenses people have in their glasses that darken in bright sunlight (dunno if it works the same with artaficial light:dunno: ), worth a thought though.
