Rear Pad replacement - stuck pad pin

Can anyone help a newbie trying to change his rear pads? Manual says remove pad pin plug (there doesn't seem to be one on front or rear caliper) so I'm assuming I'm looking at the pad pin itself which looks as though it needs an allen key to remove but it won't budge. What's going on?c7u8

Yep, just undo that alan key headed bolt and the pads fall out.
Slip in new ones, lightly grease the pin and bolt back in.. Job done

If what you're looking at is flush with the caliper then that is the pad pin plug. The pad pin is underneath and as John says it should just unscrew. The pad pin should unscrew but be careful as it may be seized.

Thanks - it seems the pad pin plug has been replaced by a rubber grommet and I needed to be a bit braver with the pad pin. Little help from a hammer on the allen key released it.
Pads all in and working!

Come on you Hatters
I was just going to add 'later models have a rubber bung', but I note you've sussed that out. At least the bung won't corrode in place when numpty mechanics stick em in dry with no copper slip around them. Had to fight all three out of my mates VFR last winter after a so called 'decent' machanic had looked after his bike previously.

Glad we could help. Will you be back?
