I did search to no avail h1d1ng2

I know injection rads have 3 mounting points for the fan rather than the carb models 4

Searching around the net I notice the filler on injection rads seems to be angled while the carb models is straight

So the question is what other differences are there that would stop me fitting an injection model rad to an unfaired carbie ?

I believe the lower mounting of the Fi rad causes it to catch the CARB OEM headers.
If you are running Fi headers or aftermarket headers it shouldn't be a problem.

ALSO - make sure the Fi rad has the port in it for the thermo switch ( later Fi rads don't )

How the hell did I miss that :dunno: thanks for the pointer Andy @tu*

Anyhow it helps a lot but doesn't answer all the questions in fact it throws up a couple more ............

Taff mentions the carb rad is thicker in the core, more capacity ?
He also mentions moving brackets which isn't a problem but are the rad mounting brackets different ? Fan brackets are not an issue for me anyway as I have both fans:-0)

If they look like oem downpipes - look at how the cylinders are linked to the collector.

CARB downpipes have cylinders 1 and 2 linked - then 3 and 4 linked

Fi downpipes have cylinders 1 and 4 linked - then 2 and 3 linked

Thanks again Deano

Carb pipes then by the look of it so there could be clearance problems

As you are not trying to keep the rad inside the fairing

You should be able to lengthen the bottom bracket to get the clearance you need.

Here you go @tu*

Things I have noted ...... :-0)

The fan fits perfectly with no adjustments to the brackets needed, the rad bracket come with threaded inserts which I like

The supplied Rad cap is very stiff to get on or off but the stock one fits perfectly

Side tanks are straight rather than having a little swage in them like the stock rad, I cant see it being a problem on a stock faired bird but worth mentioning

Top mount brackets are slightly thicker than stock so I needed to trim a little out of the plastic heat shield slots to get it on

All in all I'm very pleased for the price & cant see any of the above being a problem on a stock bike but obviously its your call

I hope this helps someone @tu*
