As you probably know from a recent post, a friend of mine trashed his new 'bird in Scotland, with both he and his wife, suffering some nasty injuries.

Although no other vehicle was involved, the police in Scotland advised him that he may be liable to prosecution.

Question is, is there any time limit for the NIP to arrive (he has not been cautioned) ?

As I understand it, the laws regarding PACE are different, North of the border

:dunno:

Dont know the full circs obviously,
But an 'NIP' can be given verbally at the time by an officer, if the 'rider' is spoken to at that time. .. doesn't need to be sent in the post.

Sorry.

Oh, and different rules re PACE over the line....
