I have no personal knowledge but if it's any help my sister used to live 'on' it (well ok, just off it, in a nice little place that was originally built for the first governor of Queensland) and she reckoned it was worth it; as they have been to quite a lot of the world and tend to call a spade a shovel I don't see why she'd fib to me!

Which one? - The Great Ocean Drive can be one of several around the country, the Great Ocean ROAD is Melbourne, done it a fair few times, nice run with many variations of scenery and road types, well worth it. I was born in Melbourne.....Australia not Derbyshire.

Have not ridden the Great Ocean Road myself but know a few that have. Fantastic scenery but the road itself is nothing spectacular from what I've heard. g0551p

Now if you want to ride a great piece of road you definitely need to do the Oxley Hwy in New South Wales. 45kms of lovely 35/45km corners that meander up a mountain through the forest.

I don't know about the ocean road but I have recently gone on the oxley - pretty good and a weird little place called Nymboida (sp?) in NSW - was a really good road with no-one 'watching'. In Qld, Mt. Nebo and Glorious / Mt. Mee and the ride up to Maleny are pretty good as is the ride from Beaudesert to Advance Town and into the NSW border - just watch out for the cops. In Northern NSW there are a couple of ranges just over the border that are very good - I can't remember the names - maybe the NSW members can help.
