went to france yesterday for a day trip and booze run,i noticed how expensive petrol is there, belguim is also the same, most places charging 1.28 euros a litre which works out to be 91p a litre or more if the euro gets stronger,i managed to get petrol for 1.15 euros a litre which is 82p a litre ,which is only slightly cheaper than unleaded in swindon wilts which at the moment is 84.9p a litre,i was shocked how petrol has gone up in price in france compared to a few years ago when there was a big price difference compared to the uk

prices have gone up but not as expensive as here yet (reached 105p at beginning of september) - not sure were you got your conversion but it's wrong, go to www.xe.com for accurate conversion.
?1.28 = ?0.86
?1.15 = ?0.77

Petrol

Hi Guys.
Just got back from a few days away,we went to Portugal and the price of petrol over there is 1,25 Euros a litre.
In Spain its about 97 centimos....a litre just under a euro.
Still a rip off ..... :dunno:

my euros exchanged for 1.4 to the pound so 1.28 euros per litre work out at 0.91p per litre and 1.15 euro per litre work out at 0.82 per litre so my calculations work out correct

Bloody hell, and I thought that our recent increases were dear! We pay the equivalent of 35p/litre for standard 91 octane and a few pence more for premium.

Have a fantastic festive season all and be safe :yo: :yo:

Absolutely true Ian, but housing is much cheaper although some things are waaay more expensive than the UK. Guess the only valid comparison is to express major items in terms of how long it would take to buy a basket of stuff stuff like cars, appliances, houses etc based on one's income. Complicated, innit?

Cruser is staying with us in February, so he might be able to figure it all out!

Take care on them thar roads!
