R#?

Most rides (and I dont get out much) involve speeds of the nature you mention, but not for any length of time, as that is just too risky.

There is a time and a place for that sort of behaviour %$fan

But I havent figured out when and where (although a trackday may be a good starting point!!)

I ALWAYS stretch her legs EVERY time I ride her...........you must to blow all the crap out of her - you won't find any sooty deposits around the end of mine mate!

run her deep into the blood in 2nd, clutchless into 3rd and within a blink she's over 140...........

Oi - this "Best Wheelie" you've ever seen malarky by BumBanditBoy - did it compare to 140mph stand up shagging?

Call you later re: food - so effin' busy, came on her to relax..........

Missing the point

Its not the top speed,,, its the acceleration to the ton,( also from the ton to 150) :} , that does it for me ,, oh & trying to keep to average 80+ around some nice twisty bits with err indoors on the back. Anyone can go balls out in a straight line & who cares when you are doing 150mph (indicated) anyway. Phookin stupid going that fast on the queens highway :t :}

Time and place

Speed in its own right is not dangerous or stupid, but the location/time you pick to use that speed may be.

I tend to "use the power" on some specific well known (to me) local roads, at certain times of the day the traffic denisity is very low, and anyway, I would never pass a car/van/truck at warp speed.

The dual carraigway concerned has no slip roads for a considerable distance, all lay bys are visable from a great distance so I therefor deem it safe to go for it, the fact that this road has a few curves only adds to the pleasure, straight line speed can be a bit boring!!!!!!

Safe....

Sometimes up to 70 mph on MOTORWAY

if it's safe, but NEVER MORE, far too risky. :eek:

Poor ole Lumpy

Getting far to serious :} like I said 150+ is phookin stupid on the queens highway,, now on the continant its different,,, coming back from Assen last year we ( a group of twelve bikes) sustained an average of 120/130mph for an hour,, it sort of makes you concentrate a tad, less traffic on the roads made this possible. Far to scary over here IMHO.

BTW If you had a bike you would know :lol:
