Power Inverter

Anyone tried using a power inverter on a bike before. I'm planning a 3 week camping trip and need to charge my phone, camera etc and figured that a power inverter would let me do it.

They seem to be advertised for use with cars and I didn't know if a bike battery had the juice to charge a digital camera battery.
