Off next week on the above crossing with brittany Ferries, going to the Picos de Europa region for a week or so then riding back up thru France to caen and ferry back. Does anyone know if I will need straps for the bike on the ferry?
Cheers

Portsmouth to Bilbao - out
Caen / Ouistreham - Portsmouth - Return

One bike, two persons, outside large 4 berth with ensuite -?447.30.
Had a discount of ?49.70 from there stand at the NEC.
Bit expensive but we are treating the crossing as part of the holiday as well :-0)

It's a nice ferry that, plenty of room to move about and pretty good facilities too. Love that moment when they open the doors and you drive out on the bike into the sunshine and the heat :-0)

Enjoy the trip @tu*

Out for about 2 weeks.
We have rented a fairly remote chalet for the first week in the Picos mountains with a view to basing ourselves there and touring out to explore the Picos mountains and the errr roads, (Don't tell my wife though, I have classed that as sightseeing h1d1ng2).
Then travelling back via San Sebastian into France and up via St. Emilion and Poitiers. No route just meandering or " sightseeing" :-0).
Arriving in Caen for the ferry back to Portsmouth.
Accom booked in the above places.

It was excellent to be honest. Couple of things we'd change but the area of the Picos was fabulous, both the sights and the roads @tu* very little traffic encountered when we were touring in the mountains, watch out for goats and the odd rock or two that might have come down overnight. Northern Spain is lovely as are the locals, not really spoilt as yet by the great British holidaymaker. We spent just over a week around the Picos, then rode along the coast to San Sebasti?n, a great place to have a couple of days chilling off the bike @tu* then over the border into France and north to the coast. Boring ride up through France after Northern Spain though :p

im booked for July 28th and can not wait............@tu*

I was booked to go mid August but we managed to change to mid June after some work was cancelled. Main reason for changing was temperatures!
May I suggest you check out roadtrouper.com
. Denis whose site it is lives over there and is a mine of useful information about riding in Spain. Nice guy, helped us loads @tu*
