Platinum v Iridium Plugs

Is there much difference, i'm only ask as im changing them in my '99 and it has the NGK R CR9EHVX-9 fitted which are platinum, and i understand it should have the Iridium CR9EHIX9 fitted :dunno:

Iridium is a harder material so the conductor can be made much smaller.
The smaller conductor concentrates the spark energy so it ignites the mixture better.
Not sure if the average rider / driver could actually tell the difference though.

The primary reason most fit Iridium is that they hold their gap setting far longer than platinum plugs.
