Yes, Trumpet, I've been flying that Chippy out of Barton as a part owner since 1979
except for the nearly 3 years I was in a Yak52 group at Barton (that was fun!). I still fly from Barton (Citabria, Cessna 172, etc.) and I don't think it's a sinking ship - it's a thriving field. The Chipmunk is at Scouseport now (John Lennon) from where I fly it often. But if it was up to me it would still be at Barton - small grass fields suit vintage taildraggers better than big airports do IMHO. However, it was a democratic group descision to move to Liverpool; can't argue with that, and LFS are good hosts at Scouseport.
The Chippy group was formed in 1979, and I am the only remaining founder member. Me and the aeroplane are growing old together (she was built in 1950, so is about the same age as me.
