Clive - by using the tags you can link to any picture that are already posted anywhere in the whole of cyberspace.........

For example: Your report on your first run after the accident - if I go to that thread and right click the first picture you posted, then go to 'Properties', my PC pops a window containing information about your picture including the important bit which I copied and will paste here: http://www.superblackbird.org/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=103257

The forum will display the above as a link which if you click it will take you to that picture in that location. If you surround that link with square IMG brackets it will show the piccie.........I hope!

If I paste it between "open square bracket-I-M-G close square bracket" and "open square bracket-forward slash-I-M-G close sqare bracket" I should get your picture appearing in my post, even though it's not on my PC. If I seperate the 'links between the bracketed IMG's" with line breaks and text I can create a post with multiple images.................cool eh!

Let's try:

Oh I give up! Someone will be along in a moment to tell us what I've done wrong!

Yep that's it - if you make yourself a signature piccie, post it onto your test thread, then in the USER CP paste the link between the IMG's you'll get a piccie as your signature everytime you post.........good eh!

One thing that does intrigue me is how an non-BIRD-sponsor has managed to post not only one pic, but a number in the same post!?!?!?!?

Did I do something wrong? If so, I appologize - could someone clue me in - please?

I had no idea anyone could post directly, but was going with my experience on the US board. I'm still waiting to be added to the BIRD database (not nagging  don't want to PO you) and planned to take it from there as I'm still in the "learner" phase - so if I do goof, I'd appreciate a "heads up" from some kind soul.

Hey Terry welcome on over. Nice pics and as Clive has said, done nothing wrong. You have impressed this lot with a superior pic posting technique honed on the US board. :} :} :} They will get over it eventually.

Relieved to hear that. I wouldn't want to put my foot in my mouth (pictorially speaking) clear up to my hip - before I even reach the quarter mile (posts-wise)!

Reefer stop winding folk up with

your chauvanistic kitchen sink lark:lol:

raddragn.....................you are totally allowed to post pics on here by using your own webspace, which is what you have done. Its what I have done with the 'register' pic at the bottom of my posts.

What the others are on about is you can post pics directly on to this forum by clicking the button that says 'sponsor' and pay a tenner and be allowed to post as many pics as you want without having to use your own webspace. You can also then take advantage of our membership offers which include discounts on certain bird specific goodies

Oh and ..............

I promise I will add you soon!!!!!!!!!! :B

Love the bikes and especially love that helmet.........very very nice.

I saw it tonight - I now officially exist!:}
I'll make a donation in the next couple of days. (I'm at work right now - even tho retired, I still work on-call for "mad"/toy/travel money occasionally and with the trip back East and the one to Spain looming in the near future, I've been grabbing all the extra work I can - greed = potent motivator) )

Gee, I thought I did darned good - if you only knew all the stuff I had packed; however the "to take" list is gradually being
refined. I no longer take the hair dyer.

Hi Raddragn,

:h

I've got a 1000F too and have been looking for an aftermarket screen similar to the one on your bike (all the rest are too big/small/weird etc..). What brand is yours ?

Is the wind protection really good and does it affect the aerodynamics adversely (I know it has to a bit to work !) ?

Look forward to your reply.

Take Care Mate.

It's a "Zero Gravity" and yes, it does give somewhat better wind protection than the stock screen - depending on how tall you are ;-)
http://www.zerogravity-racing.com/
Normally I keep my rides - both 2 and 4 wheeled - stock, but I filled the gas tank after someone had replaced the hose with the nozzle just full of gas. Got it in the face and on the windshield both when I took it down. It clouded the windshield - and no way could I get it out. It's a nice replacement and compliments the bike (IMHO, anyway) I think it comes in clear and several other colors.
What year and color is your 1000F?
Terry

eh up !

Is that a Dragon I see there before me......

is that a hint a you want more photos of my DragonBird posting....

surely not:}

Thanks for yor reply and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. w;;v

Had a look at the zerogravity website and have contacted a few suppliers in my area to see if I can acquire one through them (shouldn't be a problem).

I am 6' 5'' so I don't know if that poses a problem, I would have thought that any screen would be better than the original protection wise.

You're right about the complimentary effect, it is by far the best one I've seen on a CBR1000. I observed a real monster (hideous and huge) flip up screen on a 1000F last week so I think a similar one to yours will do the trick.

My bike is a 1999 1000F in solid Jet Black. I think one of the last few to sold in the UK, the shape is identical to yours so fitment should be the same with any luck.

Thanks again

Take care

Steve.

It looks like I should be appologizing this time. For someone who's supposedly retired, I've been putting in a lot of hours at work (I converted to "on-call" status when I left). I've just had time to read posts, but little to no time to post. Tonight I have off - plus 5 more. Besides the hugh nursing shortage here (do you have the same there?), I can always use the extra toy/travel .
money
Like your upcoming "Bash" we're having a national one in Arkansas also in May (about a 2200mi, 5 day ride for me), so the extra "wherewithall" is welcome.
Glad that the info was helpful to you. If I had to have a non stock one on the bike, that is one of the nicer looking ones. You'll have to post a pic when you get yours. I would imagine that at that height almost any screen would be somewhat inadequate unless you lay on the gas tank.
Solid black is one of the classier colors , but red rules IMHO!

Hi Terry,

Thanks for your response. The nursing situation here is pretty dire, the local hospital has been hiring staff from Malaysia as the turnover rate of UK staff is crazy, a result of crap pay and conditions. All this was promised to be sorted by the (New) Labour government but alas, it was all Bull**t ! I have a couple of mates working as nurses and I've gotta say they do a cracking job. I don't know if I could be so dedicated.

With regard to the screen, I'll give it a go anyway. The standard screen is about the only thing that restricts the amount that I use my bike. Yesterday I travelled about thirty miles at 100+ and my neck felt as though I had been wrestling ! cross winds trying to rip my head off !

Take care & have a great weekend :yo:
