Mate has BI KES on retention, he bought a Triumph 600 years ago from a dealer with it on, the guy who p/x it at the dealer left instructions for it to be transfered back to him, but the dealer never did the transfer before the sale to my mate, the guy chased my mate for it, but there was no way he was going to let it go. He offered it to me about 5 years ago for £800! :xm

circa 1980/81 there was a white convertible BMW driving around Manchester with a very HOT lady driver, her reg number was 505EXY,I saw her in an anonymous beige coloured Merc saloon a couple of years later with the same plate on, and it just didn't have the same ball tightening effect. (I was only 16 in 1980, so maybe that was just MY balls she tightened lol...)

have thought about a CBR reg on the bike but didnt want it to be instantly recogniseable to one of my evil traffic work colleagues should i happen to be speeding through their area.

the number plates that have been altered, or are smaller etc are easy prey for the "gutter rats"

good one near me on a range rover H8 JAP

enquired once 15 years ago over N1 ALL which is the name of my 16 yr old son. it was ?57,000.00 even then. wow.

applied for a bank loan to buy JON1 in 1988 which was up for ?20,000 at the time.i was refused.
saw it up for sale a few years ago for ?120,000.
that would have been a nice return.
but the ex wife would have been entitled to 60 per cent of it anywway

REALLY? DIFFERENT FIXINGS?

I once tried to transfer a plate from a car to a bike & wasn't allowed Other way around was ok, strangely). Unless the rules have changed since, it can't be done.

I'd recommend checking before buying the plate.

It can be done any way. A moped to a 42 tonne truck, or a tractor to a motorbike. . . it matters not.

I took one off an old XT500 & put it on an Audi Quattro. . . & have also sold one from a VFR750 to a chap who put it on a Mercedes Sprinter.

XX11CBR is currently available via the DVLA.

Pity it can't be legally attached to a Bird (unless of course anyone has an unregistered example lurking at the back of their garage)
