Has anybody tried the Oxford system? Any good? Or does it have to be Autocom... hurts the wallet a bit... that's the problem.

Get what you pay for

I've tried various ones, and autocom is far the best.

Yes it is expensive but it's cost me a fortune buying all the rest rather than going for the good stuff straight away.

Autocom, may seem a lot but it'll save you buying various others before you ultimately buy autocom and be able to hear each other. I know!! :bang:

As posted above, bugger all above 50mph. Ok for sorting out directions at lower speeds in towns though. Had several of them, and the latest does need to be bike-powered as the battery is only good for about 50 miles at a push as it constantly transmits the helmet noise.

After several Oxfords (the leads break down after about a year) we went on to the Autocom. Rolls Royce to Oxford's Morris Minor! Go for the Autocom, we must have spent as much as it costs on the Oxfords over the last five years. :xm

Why not consider Sonic

w;;v I use sonic, pricey like Autocom (not quite as much) but is excellent. Even with custom earplugs that don't have a filter, can have normal conversation up to about 95. Over that it gets harder with custom plugs but hell, who wants a conversation over 90mph!! Even with battery powered, on vox, battery lasts for weeks of daily use. unit can fit in pocket or under seat as leads are long enough

Looks like autocom wins... or maybe I'll have a go at bodging summat up first... for a laugh. I'm sure they're overpriced. Cheers.

I bought an Oxford bike to bike and two push to talk headsets.

A week later the unit is back with Oxford as there seems to be something wrong with the "intercom" socket on the side of the unit. Neither I nor the shop could work it out. I am still waiting for a reply from either Oxford or the shop.

And I won't be giving it's first run out on the Whippets and Clogs run as I hoped.

Maybe I should have got Autocom, but I'll wait and see how it all turns out.

Re:Intaride Rider/Pillion System

Well, tried the system out yesterday on the journey to/from the Moto GP and i must say i was impressed with it. I have read all of the postings on here regarding bike comms and fair enough,Autocom probably is the best overall system on the market, but as with everything else these days,it comes at a price. I was doing a 100mph(did i say that!) at various stages of the journey and i could still hear my missus chatting away.Okay,it's not CD quality sound your getting but then again i wasn't expecting that. At that speed obviously you get the sound of the wind blast but you are gonna get that anyway even with Autocom, it all depends on the helmet your wearing, but i don't think there's been one made yet that's soundproof!
This Rider/Pillion set i have is a new system which the company have just introduced so to the fella who didn't rate the Intaride system he had, (not that it will be of any consolation to him) this is probably the reason for introducing this modified version. Development is what it's all about. I'm sure the first Autocom on the market wasn't as good as the present day systems. I'm pleased with my purchase anyway.
